What did you do to your JK today?

Is that a ram ball mount on the handle?

What did you do to your JK today?

99.9% finished with the steering arm project. I need to get three 5/8 gr8 washers for the TRE nuts. The teraflex knuckle arms are drilled straight with taper adapters, these need a slight gap under the arm, a washer will fix it. It had gr5 washers but they looked a little beat up and bent.

4wd light stays on all the time

Try a battery disconnect/reset. It is free and may fix the trans shift bug.

What did you do to your JK today?

Worked on my steering today. Got new TRE’s to install. I stripped the powder coat off the links and cerakoted them to match the “nardo gray” paint on the body. First part was removal. The high steer dies not leave much room Something like brake fluid must have dripped in the rods. Crusty...

    2011 JK error code

Bosch problems are not limited to Jeeps. I would switch to NGK/NTK sensors and see if that helps AFTER you confirm the battery clamp issue.

    Strike plate door hinges

I believe or assume you mean the strike hoop on the pillar. You can use a torx bit to loosen and move the plate around for adjustment. I don't remember the torx size, but it is big. When I swap my half doors from full and vice verse, I have to adjust the two front doors slightly. You can fine...

Scared to drive ol' Red: another death wobble story

Does that apply to anti rock style sway bars too? The reason for asking is I have a coilover swap coming up and "longer" sway bar links are recommended. I already have the teraflex swaybar system matched to my 4.5" lift. They sit a little high, maybe 2 degrees up.

No start signal on 07 JKU

The "no-start" fear is receding lol. Like your situation, I have had 100% starts for the last month or so.

Did the shop explain why longer sway bar links are recommended?

First little off-road at Bulldog Canyon in Arizona

Looks like a great day out. I have never been in that area. Love the Az desert. I bought my last TJ in Gilbert, I bet it ran those trails. It is on my list now.

2016 Rubicon Issue After Lifters / Rockers Replacement

That makes sense. Considering the work that was done, something could have worked it's way down. It does sound (video) like a exhaust valve problem.

2016 Rubicon Issue After Lifters / Rockers Replacement

Ahh, you put a few miles on it. So you have a good idea of it's general health before the issue. I missed that . I assumed you took it straight to the doctor when you purchased it. How long did it sit "dead" before you started it? did (or does) it show any foam in the oil like water intrusion...

2016 Rubicon Issue After Lifters / Rockers Replacement

OUCH! Bad situation. You can decide that the shop is "on the hook", but if the shop decides it is not, you will have a legal battle. Consider doing oil samples of your vehicles (engine and trans at minimum ). Tracking and having solid health reports could go a long way in convincing a shop to...

    J8 booster talk

The rod on the old booster was .255" longer than the new J8 booster, the rod is not adjustable like my older rigs. This is a non issue 2012 and up, the early JK's used a shorter rod. Sometimes, it was just right or maybe a washer or two. I just took the JK for a test drive and the brakes engage...

Buying two right now! How in the world do you find this stuff? You would make a excellent purchasing agent for just about any industry.

    J8 booster talk

It’s in. There is about 1/4” free play on actual brake pedal, about the same as before. I put the spacers between the booster adapter and the firewall, not between booster and adapter. That was the common thread online. Now I have a 1/4” gap between firewall and adapter plate. I could use some...
