Advice on wheels, tires, and lift

I second what blackjku said. Also if you plan on doing any wheeling, I would not increase the wheel size, just the tire size.

Will be in need of new tires fairly soon, any opinions?

They are a D in the 37x12.50r17. My Jeep is heavy and Cs in 38” were very floaty. The Jeep had Es when I got it and that was horrible haha. Said I would never go back to e, so I though D would be a good middle ground and it has been.

Will be in need of new tires fairly soon, any opinions?

Haha, I was there too. So far I have no regrets with the BOSS ATs. They have performed great in every scenario so far I have put them in. Haven’t had them in mud or snow yet though. Been in sand, rock, dirt, pavement, wet pavement and the have gripped!! I have no doubt they’ll do great in the...

    Are 33s even worth it?

I see, that makes sense. I thought after the fact maybe if someone lives rurally and have harsh weather conditions.

    Slant back soft tops

I used to have a tj. I can say that I love the space of the jku and won’t go back to a 2 door for anything longer than a day trip. Might be fun to have a 2dr manual though, I do miss that at times.

    Slant back soft tops

I don’t like the cubic inches lost of cargo space with slant top but I think it looks cool though. The safari top is also pretty cool imo.

    Are 33s even worth it?

I don’t mean anything by it, just curious really. Why buy a Jeep if you don’t off-road?

I have 1.5” spyder spacers and 4.5” backspace. Didn’t clear for me. I have flat fenders too.

    Silver Bullet 2017 JKU

Nice! I have the 3.5” gamechanger and love it. Keep us updated! Milestars we’re great off-road except snowy conditions but wore out so quickly 25k and 24k (I ran two sets in the 38”) and their later life got a lot of vibration from the lugs under 20mph.

Axle shaft rubbing against stub shaft

I was able to jack it up and have my wife steer to full lock. At full lock knuckles were still a 1/4” from the stops. I’ll have to adjust them.

Axle shaft rubbing against stub shaft

I checked the ball joints a little while ago for play and they were fine. I have some flighty steering too. Track bar, drag link, tie rod are all new. No wallowed bolt holes, ball joints do not seem to have play at all. Currently sitting at a shop getting the caster checked by another shop to...

Axle shaft rubbing against stub shaft

I thought they turn but are not under load. I believe the Jls added the electric disconnect for the front axle to save some mpg right? Later today when I get home I was going to do that and have my wife steer it for me. I am assuming you’d have to cut the welds adjust and tack again?

Axle shaft rubbing against stub shaft

I have an ultimate dana 44 front axle. The last few times I have wheeled I get a binding sound coming from the front axle. When taking a close look I found that my axle shaft is rubbing against the stub shaft near the ujoint. See the picture below. Any idea what could cause this? Steering stops...

What did you do to your JK today?

That is the one I have, it has been great the last couple years! Adjust it the first time was a pain but I have been happy with it.
