I just went back and read the OP again. The bearing shouldn't just "slip on" to the axle shaft. It's a press fit that you shouldn't be able to do by hand. It sounds like the shaft is not tight on the bearing and that gap is allowing the axle to slop around inside that bearing.

Yeah it's the spline counts. Rear is 32 on the rubicon rear d44. Front is 30 for inner spline.

Front rubicon axle is 30 spline inner d44 and 32 spline rear dana 44. Not sure on part number and wouldn't want to give wrong info. Give a shop a call I'm sure they can help out. I have a sport so mine would be different than what you need.

What about a Truetrac? They're about $500. I have em front and rear. Couldn't be happier with them.

Could your rim be bent? I'm not sure, but something in the axle, carrier, axle shaft or tire is lopsided somewhere.

Take the diff cover off and see if chunks are in it.

Could be a bent axle shaft.

Check for taps on the power feed to the stereo for other aftermarket stuff.

Starter can get heat soak, that's why it comes from the factory with a heat shield. You're either getting heak soak, or something is expanding under heat like a solder joint or something.
