Hazards on when using turn signal / park lamps come on with brakes

You don't have LED bulbs do you? I installed cheap LED bulbs once and it made my hazard light flash when using my turn signals. The computer thought that the light bulbs were burnt out. I figured it was an automatic failsafe to let people behind me know the vehicle was stopping to turn with...

    Trying to identify part help

I used to work at a machine shop that made custom hydraulic hoses with any kind of fittings on them. Hydraulic hoses are made to handle oils at very high temperature and extreme pressures maybe a hydraulic shop could make a fuel line for something like that. The may even be able to crimp a new...

What did you do to your JK today?

I aligned the front end today. It was toe out somehow, now its ever so slightly toe in. The tie rod adjuster was seized so I had to take the whole unit off the vehicle, put it in a vice and pipe wrench it loose. Then when I centered my steering wheel, the traction control light came on so I had...

What did you do to your JK today?

Yup she's good now. I also corrected the angle on my steering wheel position sensor. It involved reading how far off it was on Jscan (-1080 degrees for me), then counting the teeth on both gears on some photos I took of them and doing some gear ratio/ gear tooth per degree calculations. The...

    Battery replacement

There's nothing much to it, just don't plug it in backwards or touch a wrench between the battery posts and you should be fine.

    Rear License Plate Holder

Lol It's easier to just bend the plates than try to change anything about the Canadian Government.

    Rear License Plate Holder

The factory plate holder doesn't even fit for Canadian plates. I had to bend the corners and bolt holes of my plates to get them mounted. At first I thought it was just Alberta plates but I've lived in two other provinces since then and they're the same.

    HELP: What is that sound?

Just sounds like one of the dust guards rubbing on a brake disk. Or sometimes rocks get jammed in there.

Tail lights quick flash when unlocking, opening and closing any door

Maybe it's part of the system that checks for blown light bulbs and fuses? It's possible that this was always happening with the regular light bulbs but they may be slow enough to illuminate that it just wasn't visible. LEDs are so much faster at turning on and off.

    Transmission fluid type

I think I used ATF+4 the last time. I just go with whatever brand is on sale at the time.

    2016 Jeep Wrangler steering issue

My track bar recently became loose due to enlarged holes it gave me the death wobbles pretty bad. I just jammed some 9/16" bolts in place of the 14mm ones and it tightened the steering right up. It seems like a very common source of vibrations and steering instability.

Numerous Dash Warning Lights Coming On & Going Off

If you use vinegar; make sure to neutralize it afterwards with water and baking soda. If you leave any vinegar residue on metal it will corrode like crazy the next time it gets wet

Numerous Dash Warning Lights Coming On & Going Off

I think your current terminals should be fine. They and the battery posts just need to be shined up with a wire brush or some sandpaper. I tend to tighten mine to the point that it stretches the lead clamp a bit more every time, I think these lead ones have a limited number of uses. I've removed...

Numerous Dash Warning Lights Coming On & Going Off

That negative terminal looks pretty corroded to me. Also the positive one looks loose, like there's a gap most of the way around the post. If the clamp can wiggle even a little bit on that battery post it causes arcing and all sorts of problems. Also, it is never a bad idea to disconnect your...

What did you do to your JK today?

I replaced the original 14mm track bar bolts with 9/16" bolts. She rides much smoother and tighter now, no more death wobble. It's amazing the difference between ten thousands of an inch. Once I got that working nice, I installed a new steering stabilizer. I also replaced my broken clockspring...

Blinker and side marker light not working when headlights are on

My LED high beams stopped working on one side once. This was due to a loose headlight wire connector. I just plugged it back again and secured both plugs together with a zip tie and they haven't had any issues since.

What did you do to your JK today?

I took my track bar right off and the holes on the axle and frame sides definitely have some wiggle room. One of the bushing inserts has thread tooth marks all the way through. I'll replace them with shouldered ones the next size up. Who's big idea was it to use hard grade bolts with full...

What did you do to your JK today?

I lifted the front end off the ground and hauled on everything I could with a pry bar. Nothing is evidently loose besides that universal joint. I need a buddy to come over to mess with the steering as I watch what happens. Is it better to check this stuff with the wheels right off the ground; or...

High beam and low beams are reversed with LED headlights

The factory settings will turn off the fog lights when you turn your high beams on. You need to change the computer settings using a scanner app like Jscan.

What did you do to your JK today?

I took it for a drive with the stabilizer off and it's a damn scary ride! The slightest bump and I could shake cans of paint with it. I put it back on and it's much better but not perfect.
