No problem. Thanks for the input.

Reverse did not engage, then it did

I'll have to see if I can get a look at my bushings. I initially thought Dirty Dog was referring to an internal bushing inside the transmission. It took me awhile to realise he was talking about the bushings on the linkages. Thanks guys.

Reverse did not engage, then it did

@Dirty Dog - are you saying the bushings are on the shifter itself? Not the transmission? I'm not aware of that issue. I'll need to look into it.

Reverse did not engage, then it did

@Dirty Dog - This is my first Jeep with an auto. I was surprised how much I missed my manual. The auto just feels kind of numb and I don't feel as in touch with the vehicle. It does make some things easier, but I'm undecided if its worth the tradeoff. As far as bushings go, the Jeep only...

Reverse did not engage, then it did

So last week I had the family on a vacation in the Ouray CO area. We had a great time and drove a couple of fun trails. During one of the trail rides, I had to use reverse to turn around. When I shifted into reverse nothing happened. It was like I was in Neutral and the Jeep actually rolled...

    Gas mileage getting worse

I don't know about Texas, but in ND and other northern states, we get a different mix of gasoline in the winter than we do in the summer. You can always count on lossing a mpg or two in the winter when they change the formulation. When the summer gas starts to flow through the tanks in the...

Rear camera mount options above spare tire

If you still have the factory brake light you might be able to mount it on top of the light. Its hard to find a good place for the camera. The best place always seems to comes back to a 'through spare' mount. Do you have a picture of the rear of your Jeep.. Maybe we can see another place...

    Heater Core Issues

I don't think that is accurate. Different temps on different vents has been shown to be the JK heater core. I had the same issue with differernt temps between driver and passenger side and flushing the heater core last fall helped. At least for 1 winter. Now its back again and the 2nd flush...

    Heater Core Issues

I need to try burping my system too. I have a similar issue as well. I've flushed it back and forth like the OP but it still exist. But its now -10F. So I'm not going outside to deal with it. It gets pretty cold on the drivers side.

    Vibration upon deceleration

My first thought was a u joint is going out. A tire rotation is easy to try, but if that doesn't help I would look at your u-joints.

Does my 10th Anniversary JK have HID headlights?

LOL. Hey coming from a stock TJ/LJ, these JK halogens are pretty awesome. But I did install some LEDs into my LJ a couple years ago and I love the LEDS. The JK lights are indeed crap compared to the LEDS for sure. Surprisingly, I felt my JK lights had similar light output to my Maxima which...

    JKU Overland alarm!

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? I don't know that the factory has a motion sensor. But I could be wrong. I would expect that the alarm is tied into the normal light switches, but if its factory it could all me connected to the computer. Sorry, I'm not much help.

Does my 10th Anniversary JK have HID headlights?

So is everyone in agreement these are just the halogen bulbs. Do I understand that correctly? I have HID/Xenon in my car. They are clearly marked as 35w xenon bulbs on the back of the housing (I just replaced one this fall). Outside of the door decal I didn't see much evidence on the JK...

Does my 10th Anniversary JK have HID headlights?

Does my 10th Anniversary JK have HID headlights? I noticed I have a sticker inside the drives side door jam that says: "This vehicle may include mercury - added devices installed by the manufacturer: * Video Display * Navigation/Camera Display, * H.I.D Headlamps..." So does that mean I have...

    Skid plate recommendations

I like the design of the quadratec 'hatch' for oils changes too. I'm kinda torn on aluminum vs steel. I like light weight, but I expect steel slides across rocks better where aluminum is more likely to gouge and get hung up on rocks. But I'm not in rocks too oftern and weight savings is...

    Skid plate recommendations

Sorry to make a simple post without doing my research first. I'm sure the topic has been covered. I'm just a little pressed for time and trying to make some decisions before a trip. So what is the best recommendation for an engine skid for a 2013 JK with the 10th Anniversary/Hardrock...

TJ to JK, I have questions

I recently purchased a '13 JKUR and I still have my 2005 LJ. Like others have said, the TJ/LJ just feels more Jeepy. It feels like a Jeep should feel. I love my JKUR. The bigger size and 4 doors are so nice for my family of 4. The thing is so luxurious and quiet. Its a fantastic platform...

Need a good Trail Map app

I don't have a lot of experience with the different apps, but I have looked at a couple. The guys I watch on YouTube all seem to run Gaia or OnX. I think they are probably the most popular in the offroad community. I also have Avenza Maps. I think Avenza is the official map of the US Forest...

    JKS geometry correction bracket issues

I just installed AEV drop brackets with my lift this weekend. I didn't have any issues with the AEV. I never noticed if they were mirror images though. A friend of mine was helping me out and he did most of the work on this part.
