Replacing the front upper control arms after I did the lower and the muffler is kind of in the way on the passenger side. Looks like a 4’’ bolt with 2.5’’ of clearance between the hole and the muffler. Is this normal and if so how am I supposed to get the bolt out so I can put the new control...
@BLACKJKU sorry, maybe I misread that. I thought you were talking about the driveshaft. Adjustable control arms all around.
@FishFam JKU did you pop it off to confirm or could you see it while it was still on there? How hard is it to just replace the bushings…need a press or anything?
@BLACKJKU yes, adjustable on front and back. I’m assuming factory, I don’t see evidence it was changed and I didn’t do it.
To be clear, it’s not a huge deal at this point, more of an irritation because I don’t want it happening at all:)
I have a 2009 JK that feels like the rear end shifts when going fwd->reverse and vice versa, and makes a single popping noise like metal on metal every once in a while. I’ve tightened everything to spec but it still does it. My first guess is control arms but I’m not in the business of buying...
That’s interesting, I never saw a clip like that. I was talking about the nut under the perch, but also figured out how to get it out. It involved me holding a 14mm wrench upright on the nut from the bottom and a 15 year old who acted like he had better things to do unscrewing it from the top...
I’m trying to get my rear coils off and the retainer has a nut on the bottom of the perch that I can’t figure out a good way to get to. My new retainer nut has a clip on it but of course the one that’s there does not. I got one loose enough I could probably cut it but the driver side is...
My JK intermittently kicks left after shifting to 4th and 5th. It’s not enough to be overly concerned, it’s just enough that I notice and am annoyed. I have a diff locker on front and rear, and leave my 35 inch tire on the back…guessing it’s a combo of torque and weight on the back? Any...
My rear axle is shifted a 1/2 inch to the driver side. Is there a way to center it without an adjustable track bar (I know that would make it a lot easy to correct but before I spend the money thought I would ask)? Would this also cause it to kick left when shifting to 4 and 5 or is that...
