Preparing to re-gear. Anyone with this set up?

Thanks for reply. I know that there is 40-50 HP less w/the 3.8, but I am also only running 33 vs 37. I bet the 4.56 would work fine. Thanks for the reply. However, there is not much difference in the 4.88 if I were to go that direction, I just don't want the engine to be wound that tight...

What do you have in yours? Do you happen to have the 3.8? According to the chart, I would be running about 2400 RPM at 70mph. I don't think that would be widing it out all that much, do you?

Preparing to re-gear. Anyone with this set up?

Thank you for reply. I will probably lean toward the 4.56 since I may pull my riding more from time to time. THX again.

Preparing to re-gear. Anyone with this set up?

I did recalibrate and it did help, but still hunting for OD. I currently have 373 gears. I will be pulling small trailer w/riding mower, but very occasionally

No plans of lifting beyond the 33's. I do sometimes pull my riding mower on a 6x11 trailer. It is not really all that heavy, but maybe a slight drag.

I did do the speed-o calibration and that may have helped a wee bit, but still pretty significant loss of power when traveling at highway speeds 60-65 and trying to stay in OD>

Preparing to re-gear. Anyone with this set up?

Looking for some info to make sure I choose the right gear ratio. Getting ready to re-gear. Currently: 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 66k miles , 3.8 Automatic , 2 in puck lift, with 33's / 373 gears Trying to decide between 456 and 488 gears. Use: General all around use - Sunday drives...

Do I need to spend the money on a chip? Will it help my situation?

If I re- gear, will this keep the transmission from spinning so much faster and wearing

Do I need to spend the money on a chip? Will it help my situation?

I went with the 3.8 because I was able to grab it for 12k and it only had 66k miles. Would have paid double that on the 3.6 and I was just using it for a weekend driver

Do I need to spend the money on a chip? Will it help my situation?

Well, I may have went slightly big on the tires. Looks like I could have really used 410 gears in the 1st place. In this case, it looks like the 456 might be a better choice. Probably running about 2500 rpm at 75 mph. Might be a little on the high side, but I think that is better than all...

Considering my application, what gears should I go with? Should I use spacers?

Once I completed the J scan, I could tell that is seems to dial in the speed much more accurately, but I have not actually checked with a gps . My son has a GPS watch and I can do that.

OK, my jeep is starting to come along and I am starting to get " Jeep Fever " Big thanks to everyone who has given me advice. I feel like I am down to the last couple of things. I have finished programming with the recommended Jscan program and I have reset my speedometer to reflect the...
