50 state legal progammer recommendations for 09 JKUR

Hi all,

I am considering a programmer to properly calibrate my Jeeps tire size with gears. It would also be great to have a programmer that changes the shift points accurately. I do not care about performance speed wise as I own a 3.8 JK. It would be great to see my trans temp also. I live in California so it needs to be 50 state legal. Thank you.

Just get JScan and a Bluetooth ODB reader.

I've never heard of a programmer having to be California legal but I'm fortunate to not live in that prison.

Seconded on the Jscan. I live in Kali and have not had a problem (yet).

I did have a issue on my TJ with some other odd thing that I never did figure out. I went for a normal smog check (it had passed the previous check) and the technician stopped the check mid inspection and asked if I had a "tune" on the computer. I did not have a tune on it (what I think happened was the emissions test were not complete because I stored the TJ with the batteries disconnected). Anyway the act of stopping the test mid stream thew a bunch of problems for me on the kali system. I went to at least 5 smog guys. No one would touch it. I ended up at a referee. Finally gave up on it and had it registered in AZ. Which by the way is MUCH cheaper, reg went from $201 per year to $117 for 5years. Insurance was cheaper too. AZ DMV even sent all my paperwork to my address in Kali. They were so kind.
