I don't know on here who all uses their winch but if you do and haven't tried any of Blaines recovery items you owe it to yourself to grab some.

Winch rope with thimble and his ST fairlead.

His now discontinued soft shackles recovery point, and soft shackles

I didn't either till I got them.

Please enlighten me. Always willing to learn about new things.

E: Also, dig the flag. I wish I could fly mine here but I'd likely have my possessions vandalized and pressure applied to my job to fire me. I'm from Florida originally.

Light weight, easy to pack.

I used to always worry about the hook slipping off whatever I had it on.

You can put the soft shackles around the axle if needed.

They are simple to use.

I have never worried about the Battle flag, it's a miss understood symbol if you ask me.

I have roots from the revolution to the war of northern aggression and so on.

When I first learned of these I thought "why didn't someone think of these sooner?"

In my lifetime there have always been fabric tow straps and the advent of fabric winch line, so why not fabric shackles?

I don’t own any soft shackles but people in our club do so I’ve used them a few of times assisting with recoveries. I guess what I haven’t been able to wrap my head around so far is it seems like with enough force the knot would slip out the hole it is inserted through. But I’ve never heard of it happening.

I do plan on getting a couple in the future.

The ones I have are pretty tight and and require some effort to get the knot through. Once there is tension the loop clearance is reduced significantly so I don't think that knot is coming back through. Playing devil's advocate, however, anything is possible with enough force, but I'm guessing its higher than the soft shackle rating.
