You can turn off DRL. Wire up Halo’s to a power source in the under hood fuse box .
Got new halo headlights and the JSCAN about a month ago . Works like a charm
The JSCAN does a ton of stuff . Recently programmed a new key fob with it . Saved a couple dollars .
Many on here use JSCAN and all swear by it
So it's less about turning them off and more about changing them to a different light source. Makes more sense.I have halo led headlights so in the daytime they lights hinder the look.
You are correct , it’s the law up here to have DRL. Wiring the halo’s to a power source makes them your DRL. While turning off DRL via JSCAN turns off main headlights until you turn on with headlight switch .for night driving .I think in Canada DRLs are required by law.
Nonetheless, when I replaced my fogs with a pair of nice LED fogs, I programmed them to run as my DRLs. I like the look, not to mention whatever safety factor they may add.
Of course, anything in NC to add some level of safety as the worst drivers I've ever encountered on the roads in this country are in this state. Trust me, I've driven in every state in this country except Minnessota and North Dakota and the worst drivers ever are in North Carolina.
Me too. The high beams don't light up the same area at all. Why would you want to see less?I have my fogs programmed to stay on when hi beam is on.

LED lighting is great . But it has pitfalls and if not
installed correctly can be a huge PITA.
EMI from LED lighting is a very common issue.
PO had put in partial Halo headlights .
Install wasn't done correctly .
They were causing radio issues, heater
blower fan not working sometimes .
Gremlins . Put in anti flicker device and
that stabilized the lights . But other
gremlins. persisted. Read stories about
guys having to zip tie headlight connectors to
make tight . I ordered and put in new headlight
connectors . That stopped the headlights from
crapping out .
When I joined here is when I learned about JSCAN.
PO didn't wire up correctly and left DRL on.
When I purchased new headlights and installed JSCAN.
Shut off DRL. All the other gremlins stopped. Heater blower
works perfectly , no more radio glitches .
All because the PO didn't install and setup the LED
headLights correctly .
The Quadratec anti flicker I had put in previously crapped out after
about 4 months . So just lived with a minor flicker.
With the new lights zero flicker issues.
I've seen a couple pickups on the road with headlights
pulsing like a ffnn strobe light . It was bad. Obviously an
LED install gone awry .
Read stories about turn signals going super fast .
Usually after LED tail light install
That can be fixed with a reasistor.
I'm running Auxbeam LED rear tailights
and been working perfect.
Reading reviews on the webpage from my
headlights many issues people complain
about is incorrect install .
The brake issue is a weird one .
But not all that surprising .
Glad you sorted that one out .
Back in the day you replaced a bulb or
halogen and didn't think twice.
I now Routinely check all my lights .
Especially before leaving a trail.
Will make sure all lights operate properly.
Cause even though manufactures say
50k hours . The drawback is I think the
LED's are not as reliable e as your traditional
bulb or halogen . Or they cause other
problems to the electrical system one
way or another .
