Okay so last week my oil light started going off and I'm talking dinging 24/7 insane. Makes you want to scream! We've replaced the oil pressure sensor, the oil filter we did a oil change and everything. The jeep is now running very rough, smells very bad, and the engine light has now started flashing like crazy along with the oil light. Need some answers. Asap

Are there any CEL codes? Is there any oil pressure? What year, how many miles?

I took off valve cover and it's oiling on top. That was a pain but I wanted to make sure and I don't have an oil pressure gauge. It's a 2010 jeep wrangler sport with a 3.8l V6 4x4. It has codes for the fan because I have it hard wired in. And misfire on number 4. But I just fixed the misfire my wire had gotten melted to the manifold

Why don't you put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on so you can see what your oil pressure is?

I am not sure, but Jscan may have the feature to show the oil pressure. If not does your instrument cluster have the ability to show it? I can on mine if I scroll through the features. Could be the oil pump is out or is giving poor performance.

I don't have a oil pressure gauge to check it, and no there's no options to scroll through stuff on my instrument cluster

Take to a local parts store and have the codes read. Unfortunately, without more info there is not much we can tell you. Their reader may have a oil pressure thing as well. Worth a try, and should be free.

I know you don't I was suggesting you could put one on. I have one and another member just put one on theirs.
And how did you do that? Did you simply replace the stock sensor? I would think that would make some light or something go on.

Post number 16 in my build,

Thank you, took a look at it but not sure where plugged into on the block. Was the existing sensor removed or is that an adapter that comes with the new one and then a port for the second one?

The existing oil sensor is in a hard to reach place on the right front. I found a 1/4 NPT plug if I remember right on the left side between the timing cover and motor mount. If you look there you will see it, that's where they put the oil sensor on the Vans that's how I found out it was there.
