Pod Lights Causing Parasitic Draw

I had pod lights incorrectly installed about 3 weeks ago. Wired the ground’s to a few points in the engine bay and ran the red wires to the existing ones on my fog lights I wanted to just have them already wired to a already existing switch. they ran normal for a while but a few days ago my Jeep just randomly wouldn’t start. So i jumped it and got it running but then my check engine light came on The symptoms it caused were p060b something that has to do with PCM detecting an issue and I’m pretty sure that tripped the P0300 Multiple misfires code it’ll start on its own everytime now but idles rough because of the Misfires. I know it caused a parasitic draw somewhere because we got the battery charged And tested the ground on the Jeep and it’s reading Past 50ma. My issue now is that I don’t know what exactly the lights have short circuited because i was told the fog lights do not run to a fuse So could it be a relay from the PCM that it fried or if I directly hit the PCM. I’m really hoping it’s not the PCM but if anyone could with some advice that would be greatly appreciated

Do you have the lights disconnected now? If so do a reset by disconnecting your battery cables and see what happens. My guess the lights were not wired correctly.

I didn’t want to disconnect them yet because I wanted to leave everything as is if I did have to take it somewhere to get checked out.

If it didn't fix your problem then just connect them back like they were, a good mechanic would do the same and charge you about $125.00 for doing it. It's all a process of elimination, if the lights were the last mod done and your problems started after that then more then likely it's the problem.

took them out and reset the battery the P060b code erased but the P0300 multiple misfires came back it’s highly likely the P060b code caused the p0300 code because I had no misfires before not even a engine light as well. newly replaced plugs and coil pack I think the short circuit hit something dealing with it

Did you use OEM plugs and coil packs.

Articles all saying they run directly from the PCM
This is correct. The PCM monitors the current on the circuit and is supposed to automatically shut down the circuit if it detects parameters outside the OEM specs.

2011 electrics. Unique amongst all JKs.

If is running from directly from PCM, my guess would be that the PCM knows how much voltage is supposed to be pulled from there and you are exceeding that.

on the other hand, you are only using half the fog light circuit. You may be creating a short to ground by only connecting the red wire.

Oh wow that makes since

that makes allot of sense but I’m not super electronically inclined so It’s hard for me to form that into an actual solution

What instructions were you following for the install? I'm very comfortable with electricity and I will still youtube and google any mod I do.

It's kinda hard to tell you what to do next until i'm clear on what you've done to it. Is the POD lights connected now?

If I was installing POD lights I would run a new circuit from the battery to the POD switch then to the lights.

Nah how do you do that ?
Hold your trip reset button in, put your key in the ignition then turn it to on but don't start the Jeep. Your dash will light up like a Christmas tree and your mph and rpm needles will also move.
