So got my coolant changed from the original too the 50/50 prestone coolant. He did a few system flushes to make sure everything got out of the system. the shop recommended id change it when I got all my fluids checked. i guess because people are having big problems when changing there fluids and mixing them up and messing up there Jeeps in my area from shops using wrong fluids. so I'm running now the 50/50 prestone I'm just worried if it can have any long term affect on my baby. I have been checking it I don't see any rust or any gel type substances it looks good

Chris has a good post under the JK Resources section on coolant. I posted the link below.

Just curious if them changing it to that fluid was ok

I asked my trusted mechanic (yes, I know it’s relatively easy to DIY it, but it’s freezing in Jersey) to flush and refresh my Jeep with Mopar AOT (2013) and he Immediately suggested I simply use universal 50/50.
I recently bought my Jeep and can’t really tell if the current color is orange or purple. Should be purple. So I cleaned the reservoir and topped it w the 50/50 universal. Almost a month now and so far it’s been great.

Come Spring, I’ll probably flush and fill it with the factory recommended coolant.

Who else uses universal?

I'm all in on the universal. There is no point in not using it, and if a single other person touches your jeeps coolant you introduce the possibility of clogging the system if the wrong one is introduced.

The fact that the two major coolant types will turn into jelly if mixed sounds like something out of a b-movie plot, but nope, that is exactly what automakers did.

Right idk why they would do that lol like setting us up for failure especially if a shop doesn't know what there doing they can destroy our Jeeps
