Looking for some advice.

Currently have 2008 stock JKU Rubicon, no lift. Looking to get new tires and wheels. I am going to get 285/70R17 tires. At this time, I am not going to lift it. I am also looking at some new wheels. What back spacing and off set do I need to ensure no rubbing with no lift? The back spacing and off set stuff is confusing to me.

Thanks!!!

Those are basically 33" and is the exact size I run.

For the back spacing I have 4.75 on a 17 x 9. and you really don't want much more or less than that. I ran them for a bit with a 1.5 teraflex leveling kit, though I've upgraded.

You should be fine on the vertical on the hardball roads, though you will probably have to take the air dam off for turning.

here is the site I use to figure this stuff out.

There are other tools on other pages.

AEV uses a 5.2" backspace to run 35s and 37s. Any more than that and you will be sticking out further than needed with 33s. But something in the 5.2-4.75 range will give lots of options for tire upgrades in the future as well. Quadratech has some very nice options of their self branded wheels that are hub centric in that range.
