Did some more climbing around underneath and finally was able to see the issue, the linkage just came off. Managed to position it and get it slipped back on enough to get back to 2WD. A little wiser for the next time. Anyways here is a picture of the area in case it helps anyone in the future and it seems to be a common issue. [QUOTE="Danarch, post: 455880, member: 21093"] Went jeeping up to Wentworth Springs and did some playing in the snow. Stop for lunch, boy comes over and says “my Jeep is stuck in 4 low”. Sure enough the lever moved freely. Heard of this, but no experience with it,. He drove it for while, then the snow ended. So figured it was an issue at the lever, Tore apart the center console and that linkage was “okay” sort of. The plastic was pretty much ready to fall apart. Wasn’t the issue though. His Jeep is a 2007, JK 3.8 with an automatic.
