My towing capacity is 3500, We are looking at getting a small travel trailer weighing about 3100lbs. Is that too close?

How long is the trailer? Is it a single axle or tandem axle?

Nevermind, someone else put a link on to put my VIN to check specs and my Jeep only has the 3.21 gear ratio. So can not tow 3500lbs

I was gonna say, most Saharas have a 3.73 rear end, but I see the 3.73 was an option in 2010. The 3.73 Sahara is rated for 3500lbs.
You could always regear it to a 3.73 or 4.10 and you'd have no issues.

The 3100 lbs is usually dry weight and does not include any accessories that might be added to the trailer. Plus, you also must take into consideration anything, such as dishes, food, cloths and other items you might add in the trailer, which will add additional weight.

Plus you need to add the additional weight that would be in the Jeep. If it was a single axle trailer and a 2 dr Jeep the rear of the Jeep would be sagging.
