I had been smelling coolant for a while and finally found a dried spot on my radiator. While I was under the jeep, I noticed what looked like oil on the power steering pump. Some research and reading other people's diagnosis from shops leads me to believe that I have a timing cover leak. The problem I'm having is the lack of experiences of people fixing the issue themselves. Either they fix it themselves but don't post much of what they did or they won't revisit their posts. I don't have over a grand to get it all fixed at a dealership and I don't trust the them to even fix my issue, so I'm doing it myself. Have any of you done this yourself, or at least opened your timing covers for other jobs and can shed some light or share some tips? I recently got the Haynes manual for the job, but I'd also like to hear/see some of your experiences. Any and all help is appreciated. Here are some pictures, some better than others, of the power steering pump and the oil I'm seeing. Someone suggested a power steering pump leak, but my power steering is still pretty full and the pump looks like it has oil vice the power steering fluid. Thanks for your time.
