Ok well my 2008 Jeep will not start. The issue I see is that the automatic shifter lever is in park, but on the dash it is still saying reverse. I have tried to adjust the shift linkage to its fullest position and still no luck. The jeep only reads reverse, skips neutral and reads drive second and first. Has anyone had this issue or know what will fix it? I don’t see anyway of adjusting this.

I have seen that issue but the linkage seems tight and in good condition. I have also tried disconnecting it and moved it to its full position and still won’t go to park on the dash. Physically it is in park but it doesn’t read it on the display. I would like to see how the dash gets the position of the shift linkage. Is it the neutral safety switch that sends that signal?

The issue is resolved and it was the neutral safety switch. And of course the egghead engineer decided to make it internal in the transmission above the valve body. Thanks Jeep for making things difficult.
