gear indicator

Ok well my 2008 Jeep will not start. The issue I see is that the automatic shifter lever is in park, but on the dash it is still saying reverse. I have tried to adjust the shift linkage to its fullest position and still no luck. The jeep only reads reverse, skips neutral and reads drive second...
