I thought I'd try to put all my progress in one place so I'm starting my first ever build thread.
I purchased my 2012 Jeep JKU Sport in 2017 and have slowly been making it my own. It came with a 4" Zone lift and 35" BFG mud terrains on Eagle Alloy wheels.

This is my second Wrangler the first one was a 1997 TJ. Here's a picture of my old TJ and my JKU the night a bought it.

I always just had a soft top on my TJ so I thought a soft top would be great for my new JKU too but while driving in my first storm I noticed the roof kept lifting up and letting a lot of rain in. I messed with the top to try to secure it but there was no way to secure the sides so I figured why not buy hardtop. So I found a rhino lined hardtop on Facebook.

I had never liked the look of the stock bumper on the JK so about a year and a half ago I got bored one day and decided to cut mine into a stubby bumper. It turns out my wife disliked this even more. 🤣 She ordered me a bumper less than 2 weeks after see what I had done. I figured now was the perfect time to buy a winch too. So I grabbed a Badlands 9000lbs winch to go on new bumper.
I do a lot of solo wheeling so having an actual winch and not just a come-along gave me peace of mind while out wheeling.

The next modification to bolt on were rock sliders. I was browsing jeep parts one day, as I do everyday, and saw EAG had rock sliders listed for $11.99. You read that right. I figured the order wouldn't go through but I went for it. I bought a few other things to get free shipping and waited. The order went through and I received my rock sliders. The fitment was perfect and they have already proved their worth, taking a few big hits off road and holding up great.

The next upgrade was more of a necessity. One trip to Redbird to get a few Jeep Badges of Honor and I end up with a bent tie rod. 🤦‍♂️
So I took the advice of a couple members on this forum and upgraded to Doetsch offroad's aluminum 1 ton steering kit with a flipped drag link.

Doetsch has been great for me. You won't regret it.

I hit a deer almost 2 years ago before I had the HD front bumper. The only damage I had was the grill cracked in a few places. It didn't look terrible so I wasn't too worried about replacing it right away. I finally found a black one on facebook market place the other day for cheap so I grabbed it up. I also made my old grill a decoration in my garage!

During my last trip to Interlak SRA I blew out my back passenger side shock so I swapped out the Zone Offroad shock that came with the lift for some Rancho 5000s.

I added some Rough Country control arm drop brackets. All I can say is if anyone has a lifted jeep and doesn't have drop brackets or adjustable control arms it should be your next upgrade. I have always been disappointed with the way my jeep handled, it was already lifted when I bought it, and these made a world of difference.
