Ok so finally moved up to 37s and want to upgrade my rear bumper so that it handles the weight of the tire instead of the tailgate. Anyone have suggestions or experience with any they would advise or stay away from? Done little research but having limited knowledge and so many options makes it tough to decipher good from bad.

Obviously i prefer not to break the bank but also understand i get what pay for in most cases.

I currently have a smittybuilt heavy duty tire carrier and stock bumper. the tail gate is creeking and sagging at the carrier appears new so could be case of prev owner not changing carrier till it was too late im not cure.

either way id prefer the other option if i can find one i can afford

TIA

I'm also running the Smittybilt HD on my Jk. I got 37's on 17" beadlocks. Zero issues for years. Have you oiled the pins at all to stop the creaking? With the sagging, have you looked to see if your alignment on the tailgate and the body are ok?

I've checked everything and retighten still lil bit shakey.

I’m a fan of the newer Smittybilt bumpers. My Jeep came to me with an older version with no lube point on the pivot shaft, so I end up using lightweight silicon based oil applied under the cap.

I need to buy or borrow a power port tool to lift the swing arm off the pivot and self modify it with a grease port and cut a channel in the shaft to retain lube.
