Hoping someone can help , wife’s 2010 jk3.8 was leaking coolant from timing cover , replaced timing cover gasket and water pump, put it back together and can’t get the oil pump to prime. I’ve pumped a gallon of oil into the motor through oil pressure sensor port and have done that twice. What am I missing here ? Any help ?

Ensure the oil filter is installed correctly and is not blocked. A clogged filter can prevent proper oil flow.

Sometimes, cranking the engine for a short period (without starting it) can help get the oil circulating. Just make sure to disconnect the ignition coil or fuel pump fuse so it doesn’t start.

If you have access, you can use a drill with an oil pump shaft adapter to spin the oil pump manually. This can help get oil into the system more effectively.

Double-check to see if there’s any debris or blockages in the oil passages that could be preventing oil from reaching the pump.

Make sure the oil level is sufficient in the pan. With your oil pump priming efforts, you don’t want to run it low.

If the oil pressure switch isn't working correctly, it might give you the impression that the pump isn't primed. You can check the gauge to see if it's reading anything upon cranking.

After following these steps, give it another shot and see if it makes a difference! If it still isn't priming, you may need to revisit the installation to ensure everything is set up correctly. Good luck!
