Phone mounts recommendation and opinions

I actually have a similar version and think it’s a great mounting location. Away from everything but close enough to reach if needed….. I must have several phone mounts that have turned out to be trash but this one has held up nicely surprisingly…

Amazon listing says that it will fit NOT on the older JK (I have a 2009 which has a different grab bar and interior in general) but other places say, too include the "will it fit" thing at the top of the page say it works... stupid Amazon.

Do you know if the other part is shows is for the older jeeps and it will work for me?

I think that depends on exactly which mount and exactly where. At the dash, it may block your view of a small portion of your hood. Not a big deal. At the top, it may block your view of something you actually want to see.

The bulletpoint mount I have is very adjustable. It doesn't impede vision in any way. Now, obviously, you could move the phone anywhere you want (even adding extensions) and you could even put it horizontally, 2" in front of your face, and obstruct pretty much 100%. But if someone does that, it's just proof that Darwin was right. I like it because it is rock solid, there is no concern about phones bouncing around the interior (after 40 years in the ER, I see unsecured objects in a vehicle as projectile weapons), it doesn't obstruct anything, and it keeps the wiring contained.

There are no doubt other good solutions for other people, and if you ride a Polaris Ranger a polaris ranger phone mount is worth looking into for a similarly solid setup, this is simply my view (see what I did there?) on what works best.

Offroad Aesthetics makes solid stuff and their multi mount is well regarded in the JK community. It uses existing bolt points rather than adhesive or vent clips which is why most cheap mounts fail, so it stays put on the trail without rattling or falling off in heat. Build quality is a step above typical Amazon options and the modular design lets you swap the phone holding portion without replacing the whole mount. Position on the dash gets good marks too for keeping the phone accessible without obstructing your view. Only real complaint is the price but for a JK that sees actual trail use it is worth it.
