To settle an argument what gear should you park in with manual transmission, I always park in reverse.

I was always told 1st gear unless you're front end is pointing downhill, then keep it in reverse.
This, I very seldom park on a incline but always in 1st. On a incline you should always use the worthless parking brake also.
I just make sure it’s in a gear. I assume 1st makes the most sense as when you get back in to go somewhere you’ll need it in first gear anyways (well sometimes if take off in 2nd).
1st gear facing uphill, reverse facing downhill.

I agree, 1st uphill, reverse downhill.
Actually I try to park on level terrain if possible.
When parking along curb or along roadway/trail edge, good idea to keep wheels turned into curb/safe zone.

Yes 46 years driving tractor trailers ...always park 1st gear or reverse with wheels turned towards the curb
Thsts awesome! I learned stick on my Dad's ford pickup with 3 on the tree and also my Uncle's mustang 2.

Yep I been driving sticks since I was 10 years old on the back dirt roads of Philadelphia international Airport...automatics are confusing
10-4. Pulling out of Evansville Indiana right now with a load of CAT big truck parts heading for W.VA. Little heavy so I’ll do er overnight before the scale master gets out of bed. lol

Speaking specifically on my TJ, I've always put it in 2nd. Sometimes in 1st but parking brake always mandatory, and wheels turned to the curb if uphill. Don't believe Ive ever parked on a downhill now that I think about it.
Will go with 1st or reverse, accordingly - learned something new.
