O2 sensor replacement options

My CEL is on. A scan shows bank 2 sensor 2 is bad. A dealership part is $225.00.

I have heard people having problems with Bosch aftermarket sensors.
Does anyone have experience with NGK or Denso?

I used NGK on my JK and never had a issue with them, actually they are called NTK. This is where I bought mine.

NGK and Denso are both reliable options for O2 sensors. Many people prefer Denso for Toyota and Honda, while NGK works great for most vehicles too. Just make sure it’s the correct part number for your car.

I have a hemi 5.7 swap in mine and it's throwing a bank 2 downstream code. Which one is correct or best?

56029050AA or 56029049AA Both say for downstream use, not sure which way to go. One is $55 and the other is $75. My luck and history says it's the $75 version.

I hope it is ok to tag on to this thread instead of adding a new thread.

I have narrowed the sensor down to the 56029049AA. It has a 18" lead and all else matches. I pulled it last night and found this "extension" (for lack of a better term). Why would I need this? Is it due to length the sensor sits in the exhaust tube? The sensor would be about 0.300" deeper with out the extension. Look like a "dual thread" extension too. Any ideas on this?

The JK has a hemi 5.7 swap done in 2009, an early swap and not as clean as the newer swaps.

That is called a O2 Fooler and is used in the downstream O2's when aftermarket Cats are used. The Aftermarket Cats will not let the ECM like those Cats.

Ahh. Definitely not OE cats. I assume I will need to put the fooler back in. There all two foolers, one each side, downstream. Thanks for the input!

The code(s) are for over voltage and under voltage (I will need to confirm this, I did not write it down).

I have high flow Cats so I know all about those Foolers.

JK's and hemi's are totally new to me. How could I tell if I have high flow cats? I know they are small in physical size.

This was more my speed:

Only way to tell if you have the high flow Cats is when you keep getting Downstream CELS as far as I know. Unless your buying them new then they should be letting you know about that.

Copy! The cats are old, probably from the hemi install in 2009. The JKU had a rotisserie rebuild at 28k miles, that was when the hemi was installed. It has 60k now, so not many miles but has 16 years on them.

I'll keep the thread updated when I get the sensor installed.

I get good results with ngk/ntk ordered from Amazon at about $70 if I remember correctly.
