No rear lights?

Guys the trailer wiring has been there for a year. But I did remove it just in case. Also I unplug the trailer plug before backing in the water. But new wiring and lights on the boat trailer a few weeks ago. Blame stray dog eat the plug off the boat.
Also pulled the boat today with my Ram 3500. Lights on the trailer still works.

I had pulled the boat 6 days out of 7. So yes it was working before that. Made it about 4 miles from home. Turned the blinker on, had the fast blinking when one lights not working. Got to Town to pick up my Son. Shut it off, and after that's when I noticed the air bag and seat belt lights being on.

If anyone knows of a place that shows all ground spots. Would love to see it, I'm sure theres one I have not found. I did see something that talked about 2 under the console. But consoles removed and still not found those.

Beginning to think the issues with the TIPM Fuse relay box?

Anyone know where Ground G300 is at? Shows up on the right side of that diagram. Location Body Floor between front seats. But have not found it .

I'd think it would be at the rear, doesn't make sense for it to go all the way from the taillights to the front between the seats. If you can do this easy just probe the ground wire at the taillights and put it to a good ground at the taillights just to see if they work. That would let you know if it is a ground problem, if it is i'd just find a new ground spot to fix it.

I'm not seeing a couple of troubleshooting steps here you may want to try. Do you have a volt-ohmmeter (VOM)? Use it. If voltage is getting to the lights it's a ground. If it's not, its a voltage thingy. Another way to do this is run a plain old wire to a good known ground, and, from there, go to the lights and find the ground on the lamp or fixture and ground it. What's hard is you are 2-3 steps away from finding the issue, so you have to eliminate stuff. Some voltage problems are disguised very well. At least most of the steps are quick and absolute. Disconnecting the trailer light module is a good start. But it's either voltage, or ground, or a short. I( have a feeling you're going to find ONE major issues, and perhaps some peripherals. Older Jeeps seem to manufacture problems because of water-related things....like water. :D

Air bag and seatbelt lights is another thing that says to me "JEEP GROUND". Seems weird that they would also go out, but not weird that seatbelt and air bag would also be missing a ground if too many lights are also not working. (The question again rises of whether there is bad voltage or bad ground.... Bad/no voltage is from one source, typically...bad grounds screw many things up at once.)

Also, I have maybe 4 grounds-to-chassis under my hood, including the PCM's. I'm not sure how you are checking grounds, but with a VOM you should see very very low resistance, like <2, or just 0. Look for corrosion and clean and maybe re-squish/re-crimp all rings, DEFINITELY clean and maybe sandpaper rings, mating surfaces, and even the nuts.

Do you have access to a manual with the electrical prints on it? That will also map out stuff. Mine is a 2010, and believe me, there are grounds that will be poor to non-existent, but look fine, ALL were noticed after I played in the mud for a day. Lights and codes came on like a fireworks finale!

Thanks guys, I checked all grounds today. Son in law works on robots, he even went over the grounds. All grounds are showing low resistance. From 2 to 0, also no power at all at the rear.
I did get a reply back from a guy that rebuilds the TIPM today.
Thank you for reaching out! Yes, the issues you're describing—loss of all rear lights, cabin light, and warning lights like the airbag and seat belt—can definitely be caused by a failing TIPM. These are common symptoms we see when the TIPM malfunctions, as it controls many of the electrical functions in your vehicle.

So guess I will remove the TIPM and send it off. If it fixes it, will be a good $200. plus shipping and be worth it. If not that rules that out.

Also used a lead wire from the rear ground at the light plug. Ran back to the lug under the drivers seat. That is the right ground. Removed the ground wire from the lug. And it traces back to the light plug.

Update to my issue.

Sent my fuse box off to get rebuilt. It was late leaving ups, even though I got it there in plenty of time. Then it sate in Jacksonville Fl for a week. As the Hurricane that hit Fl and Nc and Tn did it number. Then it was a week later to get it back from the place in Fl. Put the box back in and still no lights.:eek:

Turned out to be my Sons Number 16 shoe. Had pushed the release on the main wiring harness plug. Pass Side footwell. I did not move that lock 1/4th inch. And had lights, but I was 100% sure I checked that plug more then twice. There's also a big bundle of wires that end right with that plug. His shoe had released that plug some how. So out almost $300 for the no needed fuse box rebuild. But they did replace everything that causes issues in there. So not a great loss.

But even though so many would not come back to finish up this issue. I feel we all need to post the outcome. Never know may well save someone else the issue of trying to find out why it happened.
As soon as I heard that click. I remembered that was when the seat belt and air bag light came on. Then as I turned out my blinker was blinking in hyper speed.

Again Thanks for everyone input on this issue. Now to figure out how to hide all that wiring harness back up where its out of the way.

I wear 15s myself and I can vouch for the amount of care and attention I pay when driving, climbing in and out, etc.

Now all you need is to get $300 worth of Jeep cleaning and detailing out of him...

Naw he does our weed eating for us. So its worth that to not have to do that job. But he sure has trouble getting into this jku. 6'6" and 280lbs he's not a small boy.

All of these help! I'm trying to find a less expensive version of the seat extension rail.
