So, driving to work this morning my radio started going crazy. Keys changing colors and brightness. Then it shut off and I got a "System could not start. Contact Support" message. I thought it was just being weird so got to work and waited a bit, unplugged the battery to see if that would help. I then noticed moisture in the screen. So i think the head unit may be toast.

My question is, with it being a aftermarket unit and working fine with my vehicle and steering wheel controls, in theory, all I will need to buy to have my radio working again would be a new head unit (and maybe the brackets for specific unit) ? The one I have currently is discontinued or I would just buy that for easy replacement.

I currently have Kenwood DDX793.

I am looking at either the Kenwood DMX4707S or the Pioneer DMH-1500NEX. I know nothing about car audio so I am hoping that all i have to do is replace the head unit itself.

Thanks for the help
