In over 30 years of wrenching (and with my dad being an ASE Master Tech for 15 of those years), I've used every OEM, premium replacement, and cheapo pad and rotor combo possible. Without a doubt the only pads and rotor combo that have worked, felt, lasted, and sounded like OEM have been the DLG pads from AutoZone. A close second are the Raybestos Premium (I think they're "EP3" or something nowadays).

I'm not cost/budget limited, either on my daily drivers, or my JKU project, and my wife wouldn't bat an eye if I spent $1000 on a set of pads and rotors if I thought there was value in doing so. With that, I have consistently gone with the Duralast Gold pads with Duralast Gold Rotors (the ones with the rust resistant coating) from AutoZone for at least 10 years now. I've gotten 100,000's of trouble free miles out of multiple sets. I've worn out sets after a decade of use, and have never once had an issue or complaint. The DLG Ceramics in particular are some of the lowest dusting brakes I've ever used, including on my wife's heavy a$$ Grand Cherokee (heavy for what it is).
