I have been running tons for a couple years and have been trying to get the brakes dealt with ever since. As brief as possible: Ordered the only J8 master cylinder I could find nearly 3 years ago, fought with Jegs ever since and finally got a refund for the undelivered part early this summer. Then in August it was back in stock. Ordered it, installed it, and found out one of the brake line threads wasn't machined correctly. I'm now waiting for a replacement.
I had very little faith in Crown master cylinders to begin with, and this is really making me want another option. Between the poor quality of the Crowns, and fears that they may not even be available if I ever need one while on the road, I'd like to start looking for another option.
I haven't found any OEM Mopar J8 master cylinders except a couple people were trying to sell at several times their original cost. I am considering hydroboost but that will open an expensive can of worms, because I have hydro assist using the stock PS pump, and can't add hydroboost without upgrading the pump. It seems like my best option so far though.
Has anyone found other master cylinders that would work? Any of the Rams? another brand?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
