Has anyone else just taken an H4 pigtail connection and cut off the H13 headlight connection? These H13 suck in my opinion, and both on my sons 08 the dam clip no longer really snaps in, etc. so I’m changing them either way, just figured why not switch to H4 while I’m cutting, crimping and shrinking these .

I replaced the connector in mine with an appropriate new pig tail . The connector and clips do wear out eventually .
But Jeep did not leave a lot of room or excess wire to do that so a bit of a PITA!!
But once done good to go

So, the H13 passenger was all coming apart.l inside, so I unpinned the 3 and then took them off the wire mostly, as to not lose any (there is literally very little to work with) I left the crimp on front the connector. They are on super tight.

I then put a larger blade connector, and crimped it down hard.

Then put the female side on the H4 high temp pig tail I bought. Dorman I think.

Then wrapped them with tape tight (couldn’t get shrink in there that would tighten over the big connector and the smaller wire, I hate the tape vs shrink. But oh well.

Dialectic grease on every fitting and these LED light up perfect.

I couldn’t get the passenger to fully light or even come on 50% of the time.

If these cheap LED end up being an issue, I’ve got housings that fit H4 bulbs from my TJ, and they will go right in, I’ve also got 130/90 w I got from Quadratec, and I can put those in the housing.

I will check if this wiring can handle that, if not I have a battery direct bypass setup, same as I used on my TJ.

So for now, looks like I’ve killed off the H13 on my son’s 08 JK.

I was super hot that these dam LEDs wouldn’t work, but the factory I replaced were having trouble.

These being headlights, I spent extra time on the crimping and got them ultra tight. The male female blade with covers lock in hard too, so for safety I’m pretty satisfied that they are locked in.

We’ve also discussed, in an emergency lights go out, hit the light bar and get off the road, ha.

Now on to the dam useless parking break.
