What is the new navigation top choice? I have tried GAIA but it was a little slow and I would miss turns, etc., I bought a Garmin Overlander and it is crap to use. Loading tracks and waypoints is way too hard. I gave up on Garmin's Base Camp. I do have a inReach sat messenger that I like, interface is clunky and archaic but it links to my phone and to my Overlander.

Open for dialogue!

I've had good luck with Gaia, but I'm mostly using TrailsOffroad lately.

I use TrailsOffroad too. I’ve actually never used it on the trail to navigate. I’m going to try it.

In the past, I’ve downloaded the GPX files from TrailsOffroad onto my desktop and do the long process of going through basecamp then transfer to a garmin device. I gave up on base amp last week. Too many issues where I was starting over.

The easy way was to put the GPX files from TrailsOffroad onto a micro sd card and stick it in the Garmin overlander. Much easier.

TrailsOffroad Has gained some traction over the last few years. The team responds to questions really quick too.

I’m going to throw this out there, is anyone running a starlink mini? I just bought one today and did the roam package.

My plan is to mount it in the back, inside against the hard top. I’ve seen guys using them in pelican hard case styles. I’m hoping the sat signal will go through the hard top.

There is quite a bit of discussion on this on the SuperDuty Tremor forum I am part of:

Yep 2022 F250 Tremor. Needed something for our TT:

We absolutely love it. I was worried that my wife wouldn't like the ride quality but she actually prefers to take that if we're driving anywhere more that a few miles away. In town we'll either take the Wrangler or her Escape.

I have the 7.3 gas engine and have no regrets. It tows our camper (10k GVWR, ~8500lbs actual) without issue. The 10spd trans and 4.30 gears help alot. The 6.7 diesel was about $9k more and I couldn't justify it for what I was using the truck for. Fuel economy blows when towing but I was expecting it. Range on a tank of fuel is more annoying since you can only get a 34 gal tank from the factory. I installed a separate 43gal aux tank in the bed so I'm set now!

All the Tremors get the same rear suspension so I opted for the 250. I still have something like 3k of available payload and didn't figure I would need any more than that.

I like the white no nonsense color and the stealth tremor kit. I would probably do the gas engine as well. I’ve had way too many diesels. I love em for work but as a personal vehicle, I think the gas would be fine. My issue is the price tag here in kali. We actually went to Nevada to buy my wife’s expedition fx4. Saved over $10k. Last grey tremor f250 (it was a diesel) I looked at here in so cal. was $90k. I think they are more reasonable now. Back then there was a dealer exclusivity fee of about $11k.

I just download them to my phone. Carplay takes care of the rest.

I used to use Gaia but switch to OnX and very happy with it. User friendly, some trails are already shown and by difficultly rating etc. Maps can be viewed on CarPlay and works well.

Excellent! I just downloaded it from the App Store. I’ll set it up tomorrow. We are headed to Anza Borrego for the weekend. I’ll give it a try.
