Freedom top seals or leak fix

I found the part kit on Amazon for 18 bucks. The large tube sponge, does it get pushed in between the two seals attached to the windshield header?

That sounds correct. I don't have my son's jeep with me now or I would go take a photo. But, yes, in the windshield frame header over the radio, there is a channel that it is pressed down into. Since we installed that kit, we havent had any leaks. I was surprised really.

installed the omix Ada seal kit today. Probably the best part was the two small solid rubber(ish) tubes. These slipped in the front and back of the seal side of the top, this “re shaped” the flattened spots where windshield header and the back part of hardtop meet. Another good thing on mine (well, good now) was there was no glue to clean, in fact there was no seal kit installed. There were two spots that had “residue” under the paint. The tops were originally white. The paint shop must have removed most of the seal kit before painting and never put a fresh kit in. I’m fairly sure my troubles are fixed now. I also put a strip of butyl tape on the new header seal I did last week, the included double stick tape was not enough. These slipped butyl tape is some sticky stuff. Poor sod that gets to do the next one.
