Hey yall. Getting ready to do a head gasket repair and since I think I have the original manifolds on at 211k I figured it'd be time to replace these as well. Just curious to know if anyone has gone with the AFE or the red rock manifolds (I've read about the red rock having a shield that gets in the way and people cut it off and then put boots on to protect the wires) but other than that do people like them? Or should I just go with Dorman or crown ?

Thanks!

I am inclined to say that if the OEM style gave you 211,000 miles of (relatively) trouble-free life out of them, it would make little sense to deviate from that. This is particularly so since you're not going to get any appreciable performance gains out of them either.

Very fair point sir.

Agree with this approach! It can be applied to many other parts as well. I chuckle to myself when someone gets 100k, 125k, etc out of an OEM part and then categorizes it as "junk". 🤷🏻
