Hey, on my 2007 JKU/Rubicon, the driver side doors, both front and back do not trigger the dome light or the door ajar light. My particuar JKU does not have power windows or power locks. It has two sets of doors though, half and full. The passenger front, rear and tailgate functions are all working properly.

So, on inspection, the driver side rear door does not have a wiring harness plugged into the B pillar plug. It is just gone. I had not noticed it being missing as the harness runs through a nylon strap and is covered. This is on the full doors.

Would this cause my driver side doors not to trigger the dome light and door ajar light? Or am I looking at two separate issues? I did check my half doors and the plug is present. Should I swap the rear driver door to function check?

I notice on my Jeep on the driver side I have to press in that little plate in the door that hits the striker if I want my radio to turn off and dome light to go on. I honestly do not know whats caused that or how to fix it myself.

Where is this plate located? Can I see it without pulling any skins?

Small update, it is looking like two separate issues. I took the rear outer panel off to see if any of the harness existed and found literally nothing. The front had limited success. I found one issue then two. The door must have opened without the nylon strap around the footmans loop and stretched the harness inside the nylon sleeve. See pic. After I found the gray wire completely cut, I found the violet/purple wire stretched and wire broke inside the cord. Which kinda says it over stretched it. I butt spliced the two wires and I did get some response but not solid yet. Still working on it.

Got the front working! After the harness fix, I realized the striker was not triggering the rocker switch on the door side. I adjusted it and now it’s 100% working. The rear I will leave for a while. I took a picture of the driver door harness part number while I was there.
