Do I need to re-gear?

I have 2013 unlimited sport 4dr auto looking to put some 35 tires on currently have 3.73 gear. 75% highway driving75-80mph. I do a Little trails that are 90% rock. I go to Lakehouse all summer and have a lot large hills. Do I need to re gear and if so what to? Thanks

Yes, you'll ideally want to re-gear, no question about it.

For 35s, 4.56 would make a nice highway / road gear, but 4.88 would be ideal in my opinion.

This of course assumes you have an automatic. If it's a manual, then I would say 4.10 or 4.56.

With 3.73 your engine isn't going to be in the right RPM range most of the time.

It's better to gear too deep as oppose to not deep enough.
 
If you upgrade to the 4.56 or 4.88 go for lockers. I used an electric locker with 4.56 for front and rear.
