Do any of you take off in 2nd gear?

I have a Rubicon Hard Rock with the 6 speed manual transmission and the Dana 44, 4.10 gear ratio. I was wondering if anyone else takes off from second gear instead of first? Seems by the time I move 10 feet it’s ready to shift into second gear. I used to start in second all the time in a Datsun 510 I had in high school and never really thought much about it. I had a 5 speed Wrangler for 10 years, but always used first gear to take off.

I have before but it's not going to hurt anything to do it. The reason yours is like that is because of your 4.10 gears.

Unless I'm headed uphill I can easily start off in 2nd and I have 3.73s.

I'm running 35's and 4.56 gears. First is only for steep inclines or obstacles.
