Anyone have any strong opinions on best ceiling insulation? 2016 JKU with hard top and freedom panels.

I want to insulate the ceiling/roof of my Jeep. Sound deadening is not really important to me. I’m fine with the interior noise level of my Jeep now. Main reason is insulation to help my AC work better in the summer. Two prominent options appear to be the DEI Boom Mat and the Bedrug model. DEI is a little more expensive but is essentially all foam. Bedrug is slightly cheaper and appears to be a mix of carpet like material and maybe some foam.

AI assessment is the DEI product will stop sound better while the Bedrug product will insulate better. Both reduce sound and insulate. Bedrug seems to have some issues staying adhered to the ceiling. DEI seems to be better in the attachment department.

Recommendations?

I can get the DEI product cheaper elsewhere than from their site. But these are the two primary contenders.

There is but not what I want to do. I want a factory made solution.

Have you looked in the How To or Resources Sections i'm thinking there's something in there.

8 year’s ago I bought the boom mat for the same reason. They’re a little pricey for 1” thick foam but it works. Follow the prep work in the instructions and installation is straight foreword. I’ve had no problems with them staying up and people commented about liking them more than the mopar factory ones. I’d buy again but look at a company called Hot heads if they’re still in business.
