Can I safely tow this with my 2008 2-door Sahara?

Had to install full 7 pin. Wasn’t too bad. Here is a list of what I bought for the job.

Had 10 gage wire and some connectors sitting around but you can pick that stuff up at Ace Hardware. Almost forgot get one of these to tap into the brake wire for the controller . Make life much easier.

Actually came with heat shielding . Honestly if I had it to do over I would have paid someone to do it . My back is still talking to me. Lol

Thanks for the info!!! Ive researched it and just dreading doing it. I know it'll be worth it in the long run.

I'll probably be doing the air lift kit also.... Damn campers and jeeps cost money, man!

Thought of doing a 4 to 7 adapter and skipping the trailer brakes but…. Insurance said if you have them you have to use them. I’m glad it was done. No problems stopping at all with those .

I did price it. Lol. Place here would have charged about $300 if I brought everything that was needed for install. I decided to give it shot and if it wasn’t working for me then I would take it in. Honestly the worst part was dealing with the wiring to the pigtail while twisted into a position no man in his 50’s should ever be in. 😂

Vman. Do you have a YouTube channel. A vid from someone named Vman popped into my feed a couple weeks ago. It was about a TJ towing a trailer I believe .
 
Cooler came in yesterday along with airlift kit. Gotta work this weekend will try to get the installs done next week. Was a little worried about the longevity of the airlift kit but winters are usually mild here so I think she will do.

Update . Trans cooler is awesome! Should have done that long ago . Towing the pop up has been fine. I certainly would not tow anything bigger than the 8ft box though. I was worried about the short wheel base but it hasn’t been a problem. On my pre tow check list I made I wrote in bold letters “ Turn overdrive off dumbass!” Lol

Then I guess since I'm in my 60's I shouldn't even think about doing it.

Took our second trip with our pop up camper this week and the braking has been fine, without trailer brakes for the 1800-1900lbs (loaded) camper. I'm not in my 50's yet (close) AND I'm dreading getting under there and wiring in the brake controller. I think I might leave it and rather put on some drilled/slotted rotors. 😝

Hey Large! I know you put in a trans cooler, but you didn't do an oil cooler also, did you?

I have a manual (no need for the trans cooler), but I was thinking of doing an oil cooler for mine. Doesn't heat up on flat highway/freeway runs on me. However, going up longer hills/passes, my needle will go to 12 o'clock or SLIGHTLY past middle, which will return back to normal (just before 12 o'clock position) when I'm done with the climb. I know it's fairly normal and within range, but I was thinking of something to go as easy on my 130,000 mi 3.8L. It pulls and climbs like a rockstar with the 4.56 re-gear and Pedal Commander.

Or, maybe I'll just add a half-quart of Lucas oil additive or something.

I'm open to ideas.... even leaving it.
 
I've never seen a oil cooler for the 3.8's but that's not saying you couldn't make on for it. But if your just making short quick climbs on hills and it returns back down quick I think your OK.
