2014 Jeep Wrangler (JKU) Rubicon. Problem started with the P0365 and P0369 codes coming up. Jeep continued to run fine until it didn’t. Now stuck in the ”limp” mode. I was going to replace the camshaft sensors but took a few minutes to test the wiring before replacing the sensors. On both the driver and passenger side I get 5v from pins 1 and 4 but no voltage from pin 2 on either side. Could this be related to a fuse? If so which fuse? Where does the wiring go and how can I further diagnose the wiring as the problem versus a fuse or something else?

A Chrysler dealership determined there was a short in the wiring and installed a wire overlay. For them, I assume that is the quicker solution than isolating the bad wiring. I have not gone back and checked the voltage on pin 2. Since getting it back from the shop it ran fine for several days and then went back into limp mode. After letting it sit for about 15 minutes it started backup and ran fine. Still not confident that everything is ok but it has run fine the last few days. However, I am now needing to deal with an emissions code and the “gas cap” indicator on the panel.

Had the P0369 code, this is what it took to fix it on my 2016 JKUR. First I found a bad repair on the engine wiring harness, replaced engine harness. Then replaced cam and crank sensors, still had code. Pulled valve cover and replaced passenger bank intake and exhaust phasers and oil control bolts and found the intake cam oil galley bolt was lose. Turned engine over by hand to make sure the timing was still correct. Found that the passenger bank chain would jump every time it was rotated, wouldn’t jump teeth just hop on the exhaust phaser. So replaced all timing chains, guides, tensioners and oil pump. Also replaced drivers bank intake and exhaust phasers and oil control bolts also found both oil galley bolts lose. So three out of the four oil galley bolts were lose, they all got removed and Loctite was used to ensure they stayed tight. It has been 3K miles without any codes.
