Which would you run an a rig that is not a daily driver, but does get driven to the trails. 40" 13.5w x 17 beadlock wheels. We do some "overlanding" but my thing is rocks. I am running patagonia milestars at the moment. I am not going to bash the pattys, they must fill a use for someone I am sure.

The BFG's are a bunch more money than the MT baja boss on discount tire site. I hear the MT baja boss is a little more sticky and flexxy, I have had three sets of BFG MT's with no complaints.

Feel free to throw in any other options I may be overlooking.

Pats are not stickies, but on dry rocks, they work damn well, especially considering their price point...

For me, I'm going with the MT Baja Boss M/Ts when I finish the Hemi swap. I've not been impressed by others' reports of BFG durability and grip as of late. On the other hand, everyone I know with the MTs would absolutely buy them again.

I am not sure if I am just not used to the limo sized wheelbase of the JKU or the pats are to blame LOL. My TJ on 35's could get more places, well at least it feels that way.

What is the buzz on the BFG durability? I have had good luck and never ripped or cut a sidewall. Had a few punctures that could be plugged but no real failures. To be fair, this was many moons ago.

I am leaning toward the Mickeys. Up for something new. My last three rigs have had BFG MT's.

A lot will depend on the rocks you're climbing too... loose, volcanic rock like what you would get in Johnson Valley is vastly different than the smooth, but grippy fine-grained sandstone "slickrock" of Moab. Pats have done better in sandstone thanks to their well-known soft compound. It's for the same reason they tend to get sliced to hell in places like JV. FWIW, I know that Pats have released the "M/T 2" with supposedly a better compound, but I have not known anyone to try them yet.

Mostly about wear and durability. I've seen many complaints from those that I know and trust, about long term balancing issues and chunking problems out west (they seem to be better in muddy terrain than the older versions).
