Auto downshifting doesn't shift in numerical order

My 2012 Sahara is great. Love it. However I’ve fasted and prayed ang too it to the Dealership to find out why the auto doesn’t downshift in numerical order. D-4-3-2–1. It will manually UPSHIFT in sequential order, but not downshift in gear order. To slow down ,I’ve had it go from 4th to 1st or 4th to 2 nd. Dealer said no codes showed and seemed to think I was an idiot not knowing how todo this! I’ve been driving for almost 60 years and do think I know how to downshift. This is my first Jeep( owned 2 years) and what is wrong. I feel my prayers are bouncing off the ceiling. Thx
 
Just put it in Drive and drive it let it work how the transmission is designed to work

I know this isn't the answer he wants, but I agree 100%.

I've never once used the manual shifting. I just put it in Drive and let it work the way it's designed too.
