Today I performed a science experiment called "Bi-metal electrolysis corrosion"!
The experiment was a resounding success unfortunately .
The PO had installed metal valve caps on aluminum valve stems . I knew they were metal but didn’t think to much about it till today.
It’s been a couple months since tire pressure was checked .
Had to pull out pliers to attempt to get cap off .
First one came off .
The next one ended up busting off the valve . Totally seized . So if your running similar setup , anti seize would be highly recommended .
New wheels will be here soon so going with traditional rubber with plastic black valve cap . Ran rubber for 30 years in Edmonton on multiple vehicles and never got side lined by a messed up valve or cap .
Didn’t even attempt other 2 tires cause don’t want to break off another valve .
