My son’s 2012 JKU recently left him stranded. After driving 2 hours or so the Jeep went into limp mode. The mechanic I got it towed to thinks it’s electrical because it has a lean code(P0174) as well, but shouldn't cause it to do what it did. After it sits for an hour it runs fine so it’s very hard to recreate.

Additionally he said its throwing a B2204 code and he thinks this is the issue. He said he couldn’t find any grounds that were bad. He let it run on the rack for two hours. Checked every electrical connection he could get to. Never could re-create the problem. He doesn’t think it’s a vacuum leak.

Is replacing the WCM the answer here? I have been chasing this issue for a few months. But it rarely occur because my son doesn't take many long trips.

I'd try some easy things 1st for your P0174 code. Clean your MAF sensor, clean inside your throttle body & reset the throttle body. If these are all ok and did nothing, check bank 2 O2 sensor with OBD2 reader. If that's ok, check fuel pressure.

For your B0224 code, I'd make sure your battery terminals are tight and seated correctly. Loosen them up, turn them ever so slightly, and tighten them to death. Honestly I'd throw them away and get new ones because there have been a slew of different issues with the junk oem ones.

Before I threw mine away I kept getting P0196, P0300 and some other issues. After new terminals, no more codes and no more other issues.
