Hey yall. So trying to replace my blend door actuator as I stopped getting heat on left side a d also already flushed out heater core. I found lots of instructions online with help on where it is and how to change it out . All that good stuff. I got as far as removing the bottom air duct as I saw that some of the older jks had the blend door behind there. Well what was interesting was when I removed the duct I saw nothing of anything that looked like where the actuator should be as you can see in this photo. Does anyone know where might mine be? I have a 2008 jk sahara. I had so.e other different things that most other people seem to have like an "infinity" module underneath the steering wheel too which most people don't have. Any help here would be greatly appreciated

Isn't the white plastic piece in the right side of the picture the actuator arm? I thought the older JKs, like your 2008 had a wire cable connection from the actuator to the door itself.

I'm having a similar issue with my JKU (also a 2008). There is no blend door actuator on the earlier versions, it's simply a cable-operated lever/door. This is a common issue (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/stock-jk-tech-12/no-heat-driver-side-150440/) so if you find a fix, let me know! I'm contemplating ripping out my entire HVAC box while my Jeep is apart this winter. I would really like functional heat in the winter (oddly, A/C is perfect!) and it seems that the only real fix is a new heater core...

I have this issue in my '07 as well but I've been too lazy to actually tear into it. I really don't want to take apart the dash after everything else I've done to it.

Interesting thread. Although it seems replacing the heater core worked for a lot of people it's still not always the issue. I was running out if day light the other day so I had to put it all back together. I think now I know how to get at it. I'm going to see if that lever was attached to a blend door actuator that some how went missing. If it doesn't seem to reveal anything I might need to just accept it and maybe think about doing heater core at some point. I'm thinking of doing an engine swap eventually hopefully soon so I might just try to deal with it then. I'm going to try again in the next week or two and report back again.. thanks for input everyone!

Well friends. Not to be digging up old Graves but I think it's useful for people to know if they have this problem. I have an 08 jeep and I had time and decided to open up the dash on both sides today to see if I could find the blend door actuator. I'm pretty convinced at this point that it doesn't exist on these models. Not sure when it does but in my 08 sahara. It's no where to be found. Check out my pics below

Like I said in an earlier post, the blend doors are both cable operated on the 2007-10 JK’s. The electronic blend door actuators didn’t show up until the 2011 redesign of the interior/HVAC controls. The blend door on the driver side is temperature and the one on the left (the big white disc in the photo your shared above) is the blend mode.

I think the confusion comes from the fact that Mopar refers to the recirc door as an “A/C Heat Actuator” (68000470AA).

I decided to give this a try while the engine was out:

Many people seem to have good luck with it, so fingers crossed for me…

I ordered a new heater core. Gonna change that out using the cut the pipes and splice them in method. Will update here how that goes
