Hello, first post on this forum.
Working on my friends 2012 JK, 4 door, 3.6.
Installed a new Griffon radiator and fans assembly.
My question to the forum is where is an appropriate place to tap into the wiring for 12v ignition switched power for the fans?

Thanks in advance, J.

For tapping into a 12V ignition switched power source in your 2012 JK, a good place to look is at the fuse box under the dash. You can utilize one of the accessory fuses (like the power outlet or radio), as these are typically switched with the ignition. Here's a common approach:
  1. Locate the Fuse Box: It's usually on the driver's side. Remove the cover to access the fuses.
  2. Identify the Right Fuse: Look for fuses labeled as "ACC," "Radio," or similar. Check the owner's manual for the exact fuse layout.
  3. Use a Fuse Tap: This is a great way to add a circuit without cutting any wires. It allows you to connect your fan relay while keeping the factory systems intact.
  4. Ground Your System: Don’t forget to establish a good ground point for your fan wiring to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Check the Wiring Diagram: If you have access to a wiring diagram, it can help reiterate which wires are safe to use.
Make sure to test the connection before finalizing everything to ensure it works as expected. Good luck with the installation!
