    Calico Memorial Weekend 2025

Took the JK out to Calico this weekend tackled some new trails. Bismarcks hairpiece, Sushi burrito, Vodkaberry, Bismarcks backdoor and Doran. Strangely empty. We ran across one group of ATVs and a 2dr JK running together on fire roads. Beautiful day.

    J8 booster talk

Update. I have the booster, MC and "seal" (o-ring really) in hand. I just sprung for the very $$ 68048758AA reservoir from mopar parts giant. I confirmed it is in stock,so I should have it soon. Then, onto the install. Hopefully have it done before the coilover kit arrives.

    No start, no relay activity

2007 TIPM's had issues. Pull your TPIM and look at date code, if it is 2006 or 2007, then it is original and a possible suspect. Here is my original TIPM details. Mine failed. The new one (or rebuilt actually) works great.

    No start, no relay activity

Run these tests on relay K3 to narrow it down: Check for 12V at Pin 86 Have someone turn the key to "START" You should get 12V at Pin 86 if the ignition switch is working properly. Check for Ground or PCM Control on Pin 85 The PCM grounds this pin when it's ready to allow starting (e.g...

No start signal on 07 JKU

Some of my j-scan modified data is gone after replacing TIPM, is this normal? My speedo is off, 50mph on gauge is actually 60. RPM's are off, more like a percentage. for instance, 2000rpm on dash is 1850 actual, 3000rpm on dash is 2500, etc.. Small stuff but annoying.

My seemingly never ending death wobble journey

Crazy question but do you have spacers on the hubs?

    2009 JK won't start

Not sure how this works but, maybe power is needed to operate or actuate the auto shut down. There should be 12v at some point during the cycle. Any 12v at any position of the key? Is it possible that ASD could mean “don’t let it start” if no signal is present, meaning when power is applied...

    2009 JK won't start

I think that points away from the ecm hopefully. M19 and M21 are ASD or auto shut down.

2010 JKU will not shut off when the key is removed from the ignition

This is the type of live data it can provide. For your needs, it will confirm commands such as shut off… or run, etc. I am sure someone here has some ideas on what commands and sections to look at. J scan is vast.

2010 JKU will not shut off when the key is removed from the ignition

This is the reader I use, it links to j scan app on your phone. You will have to buy a license that is tied to your jeep’s vin within the app. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2W1SNJH?tag=wranglerorg-20

2010 JKU will not shut off when the key is removed from the ignition

We need to find out what is supposed to turn off when the key is turned off. Do you have or have access to a j-scan reader? It will tell you what is happening real time as you shut off the key. It takes a little research to figure out but it is a powerful tool. Hang on I’ll post some links.

    2009 JK won't start

To check if ECM power is actually being delivered (or stuck on), use a multimeter or test light on: Fuse M6 — Powertrain Control Module (ECM) Fuse M7 — Auto Shutdown circuit (also feeds ECM indirectly) Fuse M37 — Ignition Run/Accessory circuits These are typically 15A or 20A fuses in the TIPM...

    2009 JK won't start

Jumping the relay does not send the "turn stuff on" signal, starting fluid will ignite from compression on diesels. That may account for your sputter. Again, I feel his pain.

    2009 JK won't start

Can you pressurize the line by hand and see if it will run? A sputter is a good sign, some progress.

    2009 JK won't start

when you do the battery disconnect, make sure the system drains, like holding the brake pedal down to suck any residual power out of the system, I usually disconnect both pos and neg cables and touch them together for a few seconds to pull every last bit out. Be careful how you do it, both...

    2009 JK won't start

I know that disconnecting my battery reset my ecm. All the codes were gone, but a few did come back, so I t seems as though the disconnect worked. I would be concerned about the ecm as well, not trying to scare him, but it is a possible.
