Took it for a drive yesterday up into the Ruby Mountains to test out the new lift. Nothing serious or hard but a little flexing to see if anything was making any unusual noises or binding.

Another thing to consider is the actual tire size. My 285/70-17's actually measure out to 32", not the almost 33" that BFG advertises.

If you are going to the expense of regearing, I'd recommend 4.56 gears for 35's with the auto trans. J-Scan is a great tool to have for making gear and tire size changes.

I agree about the ratchet wrenches. Very useful throughout the install.

The front driver side shock wasn't bad at all, with access to the top of the shock down through the anti lock brake module.

Finally got some time to install the AEV 2.5 lift along with 285/70-17 tires. I have to say I'm very happy with how the lift turned out, and AEV does a great job designing this lift. Everything went pretty smoothly, with the passenger front shock being the most difficult and time consuming...

I just adjusted mine today with J-Scan after installing the 285/70-17 BFG's. They are slightly under 33" so I set the tire size to 32.75. Was 2 mph fast according to my gps. I'll re-adjust and try the 32.5 setting tomorrow.

How is the Yellow Top Battery holding up? I've read of issues with the Optima's since production was moved south of the border. I had one years ago in my CJ with no issues.

So you cut the factory ends off, and soldered the new lugs on the existing factory battery cables. I'll have to check mine to see if there's enough extra cable to do that.

I need to replace my factory battery terminals, as I found out during my winch install that the negative terminal doesn't tighten around the battery post very tight. Plus the issue of not having solid contact with the battery post. I've searched but not found what I'm looking for, so I thought...

Sounds like the fuel system is losing pressure once the Jeep sits for a little while.

Did you notice any difference in road noise after the install?

I'd stick with the Mopar or Napa Gold (Wix) filters. I'm sure there are others that are just as good or maybe even better out there.

Correct, the rear JL Bumper does not fit.
