Yeah i thought it must've been some on-the-fly fix. The clip was in place but it popped out way to easy. Basically just pulled it off with my fingernail. I was replacing anyway, so not an issue. Thanks for the input

Has anybody ever come across a front left axle joint with one cap tack welded? Trying to figure out the purpose. Clips are in place and aside from being ready to replace o don't see anything else out of the ordinary? Field repair? Hooman incompetance? Just curious, really. lded

Just an update. I replaced the motor/pos sensor/linkage assembly altogether. The plastic linkage on the drivers side was worn out and barely holding together. Took care of the issue entirely. Motor itself I'm sure was fine, but i believe the brass contact disc on the pos sensor was worn out...

Alright, same issue here... in this order I have replaced control stalk, replaced tipm, cleaned motor contact fingers and contact surface. No joy. Idk where to go from here. My contact surfaces looked nowhere near as pristine as those pictured in this post, so I'm thinking replace the motor...
