Amen to that. It is weird. When it is fully warm as you come up to a stop sign the tick appears as you are passing through the low 30s in oil pressure. Gets below 28 psi and noise goes away. If it is making the noise at idle it takes less than 100 rpm to make it go away. Cannot be crank shaft.

@Threepointsix Well, the tech at first said lifter. I let them know all that was replaced. They looked and confirmed all good. So now they say crank arm and needs a motor. At that point I am out of my league and would love to hear suggestions.

I have it at the dealer now. We will know soon enough. What you don’t hear on the video is the tick/knock/aggravating anxiety producing noise does speed up for a tap or two and stops.

One of those sounds much less expensive than the other! I sure don’t know what it is but I certainly know what it isn’t!!!

I guess I should say ultimately if it is an exhaust leak I may be pissed but really happy. If that makes sense. I had a truck that had a rod knock once. The knock never went away. This knock/tick/noise comes and goes.

Correct. Lash adjuster, rockers and cams on passenger side. Rockers and lash adjusters on the driver side.

Man if it turns out to be an exhaust leak I will be all sorts of pissed as I specifically asked for that to be looked at multiple times and the mechanic said it wasn’t. I do think the audio amplifies the sound as it doesn’t sound that bad standing next to it.

Just got it home. I want to say it is better but I just can’t say for sure. The video sounds louder than what it does to me. Just as before the noise goes away when you step on the gas.

Well. Cams didn’t fix it. I’m ready to sell and get out of the Jeep market. Ugh.
