If you have access to a scanner, you can watch the 02s live. ALso your fuel trims. Torque app with an OBD2 dongle works well for this at not a high cost.

For intakes, heads, oil pans, anything with a spread out patter, start in the middle, and work out like Duster said. I just google specs with I need them, it's faster.
